Before I Die

In the spirit of making lists, I thought I'd make a list of things I want to do before I die. I've never been able to make one of these lists before because I never wanted to admit there were things I wanted. Unfulfilled longings. Didn't want to be disappointed. But I'm trying to think differently, so here's my list. It may be short.

Grad school -- ok, that's a cheat because that's going to happen soon. But it IS something I wanted for a very long time.

To write magazine articles. About what, I don't know.

Write a book. Again, about what, I don't know. I just think I have it in me to write a book.

Travel to all 50 states, especially to the Rockies. And tent camp. :)

Learn another language. This one will be tough because my language aptitude is almost nil. Maybe I'll learn Hebrew. That's an easy one, right?

Learn to play the accordion. There is absolutely no explanation for this. They're really cool!

Make a real stained glass window.

Lose 50 pounds.

So there you have it. Maybe I'll add to this list later. Are there things you want to do before you die?

Until I write again ...

Hey, if you start speaking Pig Latin, that could count as your foreign language, right? Hee hee!

I've not thought about what I want to do before I die because, honestly, what I wanted to do was work as a physical therapist (I was a PT assistant...almost the same thing!) and then be a stay-at-home mom. So I've kind of done those things!

I want to go on e cruise with my hubby, take my kids to Disneyworld and Epcot center and actually finish Reilly's baby scrapbook!

Ew! Disney! More power to ya. My kids grew up right down the street from the Mouse. We went to Epcot last fall and it was nice. If you really want to do Disney, go in late to mid-October, when the weather's pretty and the crowds are small. We went to Universal one year between Christmas and New Year and I would NEVER recommend that. Forty five minute lines for a three minute ride.

Quite honestly, for the money, with little kids, a week in a beach hotel in the fall is much better. Rates are lower (I think), and all day in the surf is good. Local seafood restaurants usually aren't too pricey. My kids could spend all day every day in the water, building sand castles, hunting sea shells.

But every one has a Disney vacation inside, screaming to get out. I understand.

She already knows pig latin; she taught it to me.... or was that our brother? :P I've always wanted to learn Spanish, since I was very young. I have no idea why. I started and stopped learning it several times. Maybe one day I'll have an adventure in a Latin country and be able to dart in and out of the shadows, speaking fluently the native language. -.- Or maybe I'll just be able to communicate with the neighbors.... Hmmm.

Yes, Disney in the fall is MUCH better than Disney during a holiday. I will never, never, never, never fly again at Christmas.

Flea, you must definitely go to the Rockies. They are Bee-yoo-tee-full! I recommend Yellowstone. :D

If you learn to make stained glass, let me know. I might put you to work one day.

Way cool. I visited a stained glass shop today and asked about classes. Maybe I'll make you something purty. You like My Little Pony, right? :)

Chica, there are CDs and videos at the library that will teach you Spanish in no time. Then you could listen in on all kinds of conversations!

Speaking of My Little Pony, I need to get MEM a wedding gift. Any ideas?

I was hoping you'd have some... :/ I need to get a gift too.

Oh, I've taken classes before. I just never seem to get very far.

And no, I don't like My Little Pony. :P

She's registered with Target. I like odd, eccentric gifts, but I guess I'll check out her registry. A lot of it is a little off, fun.
