Blender Love

Today's post is devoted to the household appliance we know and love, the Blender.

Blender, o blender. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. You puree my pumpkin for pie, and you liquify my strawberries and protein powder for morning shakes. Then you DIE in the middle of pumpkin pie season! O wretched, evil blender! Away from me! To the Nether Regions of the Appliance Graveyard! May your evil glass container rot for eternity, never to biodegrade!

Yes, sadly, my Kitchenaid blender, so young at four years old, died while pureeing pumpkin. The rubber coupler, which engages the blades, disintegrated. What a horribly sad sound, the whirring of the motor and no blending. Even worse, an entire fresh baked pumpkin going to waste.

Last night my darling husband and I went to WalMart and purchased an Oster Fusi-something-or-other blender/food processor. I haven't used it yet, but I did turn it on last night to see if it worked as well as my old blender. Look out! It frightened me, the speed and ferocity of this new blender! I'll let you know, later, how well it purees pumpkin. Which I'm off to bake right now.

Until I write again ...

I'm sure it will puree pumpkin. But the real burning question is...will it blend, say, textbooks from really, really hard classes? *grin*
I love the way you write and strive to be Just Like You when I grow up in Bloggery World!

Girl, I only started blogging because you do it! And no, I will not try to blend my Systematic Theology text. Maye in a different class, with a book I don't like ...

It blends pumpkin beautifully! I baked four pies today, and I have half a pumpkin in the oven right now. :) Yum!!!

Awwww!! You made going to Wal-Mart with your hubbie sound so romantic! lol.....really, I'm being serious here. You did! Maybe it was the use of the word "darling." And stop talking about your pumpkin pies unless you send some down here in Florida!!! lol....love you guys....say hi to Chris and the kids from me and my kiddos. :)

Will do. And it was romantic. We went out for Thai, on the recommendation of friends, and found the best food we've had yet in Tulsa. Wal-Mart isn't necessarily romantic, but it was a date. :)

I wish I could send you pie! I cut open a pumpkin today and it was rotten and I was afraid that the other four would be too. But the second one was good! Eight pies per pumpkin ... I could send one for each of you!

Did you click on the words my darling husband? He doesn't look romantic. :)

I love the picture of him! So funny! And non-romantic!
