It's good to know that some things don't stop when home schooling stops. I'm reading my comic strips, waiting for one of my favorite blogs to be updated, when I eavesdrop on my oldest children at breakfast. They're asking each other to spell words from their vocabulary lists. And quizzing each other on history facts. It doesn't matter that the facts are wrong, or that they're in different grades, or that they CAN'T SPELL. The fact that the two of them are talking about more than the school gossip, or the cute boy on the bus, or the video games from which they're grounded ... Hey! That's what it is! Every time they're grounded from computers and videos, they talk and play more nice with each other! It's why we had TV free week about once a month, before we got rid of cable. Cool ... seems we might need to be grounding about that often too. Or teach them self control. Dang it! Why do I always have to be the parent?
Until I write again ...
"Dang it! Why do I always have to be the parent?"
Because you got OLD and had kids. :P
You're no spring chicken yourself. Nathaniel wants to know why you have a Wii if you don't have kids. Then he insists that only Uncle Brandon plays (his mother doesn't play video games). It took a lot to convince him that you play and like it.
Than and I will have to have a Wii throwdown. Grrr....
I've been enjoying my DS too, but I only have 2 games right now.
Which two games do you have? Bug the kids and they're likely to loan you games they've conquered. I assume you like Pokemon ...
Ew! Not Pokemon. I have Brain Age 2, cause it came with my red and black DS Lite. :) And I just bought Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I mostly like puzzle games on the handheld since it's mainly used for downtime, like when I'm waiting in line or something.
I have been wanting to try out that Animal Crossing game, just to see what it's like.
Yeah, they should just be grounded for life!
And I think I ask myself about a hundred times a week, "Why do I always have to be the parent?"...or something like "Who in the world said it was OK for me to impersonate a grownup and have kids?" :)
