My Children, So Educated

My children, so educated are they. Oatmeal Head is upstairs explaining democracy and representative government to Little Guy. So smart they are. And it's only been since they've been in "real school" that they can understand and explain complex concepts. I squishy heart real school.

Alright, now let me tell you how it came up. Better yet, let me SHOW you. Yes, I'm on a video clip kick. And I'm very sorry for those of you who can't watch this. I downloaded it from YouTube with Real Player. I don't exactly know what that means in relation to your ability to view the clip. Sorry.

Without further ado, the clip:

So yes, my children are watching Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail. My mother gave it to me for Christmas a couple of years ago. I squishy heart my mommy. :) The year prior to that she sent me My Fair Lady. And I think she sent The Quiet Man for my birthday. My favorite movie of all time, with the most beautiful redhead to ever grace the big screen, Maureen O'Hara. And the best fight scene ever! Of course, I find the Duke irresistible. Who doesn't?

So, a tip to all you moms out there? If you want to give your children an opportunity to display their vast sums of knowledge which they've accumulated over the years they've been in school, rent Search for the Holy Grail. It's a winner.

Until I write again ...

The Holy Grail is my all-time favorite movie. I can quote large passages of it, albeit, poorly. ;) For a surprise anniversary present, hubby brought me to see Spamalot on Broadway...I can't wait to see it again!!!!

OMG - I love The Quiet Man -and- Brigadoon! I've been known to surf the old western channels occasionally - and not just to see my children roll their eyes and sigh.

Classics! That what those movies are. The Holy Grail is one of our favorites and The Quiet Man oh yeah!

I am glad to know your children are so well rounded.

So that's what I did wrong when I homeschooled. Drat.

One of our faves is The King and I.

I've always wanted to see the King and I. Another favorite (naturally) is Princess Bride. And they REALLY didn't like National Velvet. Elizabeth Taylor drove them nuts.

Where have you been all my life? Oh...Florida...a whole state away. I love the Grail and I, too, squishy heart Princess Bride. I bought the Grail cd-rom game TWICE. If you have a serious need to waste some time laughing your tush off, the game is the way to go. You can oppress the villagers over and over and over...

Search for the Holy Grail contains my all time favorite piece of movie dialog and it is even in this scene - "How can you tell he's a king? ...." :)
