A Pencil Portrait

I'm shameless, I know, but yesterday's post brought such touching responses that I just had to post the colored pencil portrait that my mom made of Clee-o. I've posted my mom's work here before, but this picture is my favorite, for obvious reasons. She perfectly captured Clee Clee's expression and sweetness, even though she'd never met our dog, and the photo I sent her had some fierce red eye.

Speaking of my mom, could you say a quick prayer for her? I'm taking her to the doctor this morning for a cough and cold thing that's just settled in and won't go away. Ugh. Always a nasty thing.

Until I write again ...

She's still sick? :( She told me on Saturday that she was starting to feel better. I'll be praying.

LOL! Yes, she asked me to take her to the doc today when she can get in. And if she's reading this, she'd better close her eyes and get some more sleep! (is there anything more annoying than when you're sick being told to rest when it's ALL YOU DO and you're sick to death of resting?!)

Your mom is in my prayers. Hopefully it is just a lingering cold!

Wow, what a gorgeous drawing! Until I saw you pics, Flea, I had no idea how much Aussies look like Border Collies. Gorgeous animals, and they train their people very quickly. :-)

I'm still reading you Flea. These past few days have been the kind that you need at least four more hours to get the bare minimum accomplished. I read about Clee-o and your mom did a great portrait. Sweet dog. All the best to your mom.

Thanks everyone! I echo Kidzmama. And so many of the rest of you. These last few days have been insane, and the coming week is only looking busier. I'll be reading you all (late at night), but consider me a lurker for the next few days!

PS ~ Thanks for the comment. Princess Bride is one of my absolute favorites... "He's only mostly dead..."

Absolutely beautiful drawing. One of the things I like about it, besides (of course!) his eyes, is how she did that neat shadow at the bottom left of the image. Really cool! Does she have a website? Does she do these by commission...and, if she wants to, please have her contact me, I might be able to send some work her way!
PS I have a "Little Guy" too :)

What a drawing! Your mother's talent leaves my pencil creation in the DUST!!!

Rick, you know better. : Every artist has their own area of expertise and strength. My mom spent years studying art, too, and practicing in various mediums. So yes, she is phenomenal. :) And so are you!

Stunning! Tell your Mom someone in England is praying for her (and that she's brilliant with a pencil!)
