Red Alert! Red Alert!

My babies! My BABIES! They're GONE!!!! Somebody took my babies!!

Fred and Bessie are GONE!!! I got up this morning and went to make the coffee, feed the dogs, put away last night's cleaned pots and pans, and give F&B their morning pat on the head, and they weren't in their usual spot. I know what you're all thinking - they're someplace different every time I turn around. Occasionally, yes. And those are the times I take pictures and post. But as adventuresome as they are, they really are creatures of habit in the morning, waiting on the cutting board, enjoying a pat on the head.

This morning they aren't there. I've been all over the house, high and low, woke everyone, and I can't find them anywhere! There are hoof prints all OVER the butter. Little tracks which lead to the carpet in the dining room (which would explain why I found the dogs licking the carpet when I got up), but they're nowhere else to be found. The other ceramic critters were all quietly sleeping in their usual places (I've acquired quite a menagerie since F&B have arrived). But NO BOVINES.

I'm heading over to Formica Fields to post about this. Maybe someone can help me out. Maybe they'll show up when they get hungry, like Lou the Loud tends to. Maybe they're trapped in the closet or something. Whatever it is, I have to find them. They're never just GONE. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And if I find them, and feel like a complete idiot (happens a lot - "Oh, that was THERE? Doh!"), I'll be updating. Thank y'all!

Until I write again ...

Oh, yea! I'm first!

Something tells me they went on a walkabout without telling you. But I bet if you turn on some loud honky-tonk music and get out the camera, they'll appear for their next movie.

Fred, Bessie -- get back here, will you?! Hollywood is calling.

Did they get in your purse? You know how they like to go places with you!

MM - I'll turn on Marty Stuart and see if they show up! Thanks for the belly laugh. :)
Oh, and your name doesn't show up as a link, so people can't click through to your blog when you comment here. Or at least I can't. Just FYI.

AG - I've looked. Looked in the book bag and camera bag as well. I'm finding clues of mischief, but just slight ones. They're tiny things.

If they had thumbs, I would think maybe they are hitchhiking some place?

Say it ain't so, Dlyn! I would hate to think off my babies out on the road, hitching a ride, Bessie promising who-knows-what to get the front seat. Aahhh!

Oh yeah - I tagged you on my blog this morning :)

I bet they are in the kitchen, conjuring up something tastey for you...oh, you don't think they accidently fell in the trash can, do you?

I hope they turn up soon!

Insert "Where's the Beef?" joke here. :P

Do any of the kids have a "show and tell" thing at school today?

Oh! I hope not! I'll have to check with them when they get home. But they all swore up and down this morning that they hadn't seen them.

Hmmm. If I had to guess, I'd say that librarian snuck in and kidnapped them to decorate some of those floats. They seemed to fit in so well there. I'm really surprised the popcorn didn't bring them running.

OH! Fred and the hamster eloped, and Bessie ran off to join the circus...?

Yikes! Hope you find them soon! Maybe leave out some extra butter and they'll find their way home!
Did you call the school? Maybe Fred went back to make out with the Hamster some more....I'm just sayin....

Those 2, they are such a handful. I hope they turn up soon.
Thanks for stopping in to check on me, the plague is almost gone now.

Inside your shoes? That's where my sister will hide the Bee--and anything else she thought she could stuff down there when I wasn't looking.
