Before and In the Middle

Y'all. I have to show you something I found this weekend. Okay - it's not really a THING, necessarily, but it was exciting to me, so I thought I'd share. And after this type of sharing consistently, it's a wonder any of you still visit. Heh. But I'm sharing, after all, so stay this one time at least? Please?

While putting together the post about my Hunny and the watermelon, I ran across this photo in my files:

Yeah, yeah. All pretty in my ball gown. Blah blah blah. This picture was taken in January. Yes, the Hunny and I had a marvelous time. But LOOK at him! This photo was taken about a week after he started using his new CPAP machine for the sleep apnea. We love the CPAP. He sleeps now.

Once the Hunny started sleeping, he had all sorts of energy for life and stuff (yeah, my kids are rubbing off on me - like, so?). Energy for things like working
on the house. Exercising. Playing with the kids. Playing with me (shut UP!). Then he joined the Biggest Loser group at work. Twice. This time he might win. And his friend meets him once or twice a week for walks.

It was when I ran across the ball gown picture, having just posted this picture:

that I realized that big changes have occurred. Huge changes. Then I started noticing little things, like his slacks - which once were nicely filled out - are hanging off of him. He's like the saggy, baggy elephant. Shirts which were too short and tight now fit. He has muscles. And a neck. And he makes me growl occasionally.

I'm so very proud of my Hunny! The loss has been gradual, which drives him nuts, but it seems to be persistently coming off. Now if I could just stop finding what he keeps losing.

Until I write again ...

Flea

Great job Hunny! Keep it up. Slow and steady always wins in the long haul!

What a terrific post flea. I am so happy that he's doing so well. Could my weight issues and being tired be from sleep apnea?! more likely it's the people-zoo I'm keeping.

My dad has just started using his machine (after it sat in the basement for five or so years) and it's made a big difference. While he's still got a lot of weight on him he's eating better, doing things and seems a lot happier! I too love that machine!

Good for hubby! Losing weight gradually is the best way to do it.

Congrats to your Hunny! This is an object lesson for me in how weight can creep on and off gradually, and how seemingly minor health issues can cascade and have other side effects.

That is so great Flea - it is not fair that men lose so much more quickly than we do. Definitely a question I have when I get to heaven, though by then I guess I won't care. Congrats to your hunny!

Very impressive. In spite of his rather severe expression in the latter pic, it's obvious that he's not the man he used to be!
I wish I could do the same (and you!) Sigh... I wonder how many miles I would have to hike to lose even a pound? Pass the chocolate!

Yay, for the Hunny!!!! Lookin' good!

CPAP machines are the best! My hubby, unfortunatley, has to use one. It helps him (me) sleep so much better. TGFCPAP!!

CPAP--huh? My hubby went through the sleep study and guess what? He wasn't sleep deprived enough...I guess insurance companies have markers and all that for nothing. I think he should take it again, but he's going enough he's going through enough right now (just getting him to appts. and therapy is keeping this boomer busy).

Glad your hubby is doing so well...yippee!!

As usual, I'm late to the party. (Terrible week at work!)

But had to take a minute to say that photo of the two of you is gorgeous. Truly. If it's not framed and hung in a place of honor in your home, it should be.

awesome job to Flea's Hunny!!! Job well done!!!!

my husband has also be losing weight since about March...going to the little gym near our house, biking, and watching what he's eating...I think he's lost about 25 pounds or more...but like you, I really hadn't noticed as much until I saw an old picture of him from around Christmas.
