How Cool Is This?!

I'm so excited! Friend Karen - she of the really cool t-shirts for kids fame - recently posted about her forsythia, how it was taking over the yard, how her husband, Sam, attempted to kill it. I left her a comment about my always wanting forsythia and being very jealous. Guess what she did? YES SHE DID. Look!

Can you believe it?! She shipped it from PA to OK in a priority mail box, wrapped in a wet paper towel, enclosed in a Ziploc bag. Exactly the way I would have shipped it. I think she sent it on Monday? And it arrived Thursday afternoon, still green! How sweet!

So I immediately grabbed my camera and photographed it (isn't that what you're supposed to do after opening your mail?), then took it to the kitchen, where I plopped it into a big cup of water, like so:

I just had to share. Thank you, Karen! You ROCK!!!

Until I write again ...

Hi Flea, I stopped by, haven't been over for ages! What a nice gift for you to come home too. I'll look forward to seeing that baby blooming someday.
Take care.

LOL! Soon you'll be posting how you can't kill it either!

I love my forsythia..and I have managed death by Melissa yet, either!:)

Look at that thing thrive! I'm telling you, there's no killing those things. Your hubby may have something different to say about it in a few years.

I have one growing in a pot on my kitchen windowsill - I have been meaning to get it in the ground all summer :)

I have a line on some awesome Parachute Fern. Plenty to go around.

My mom could kill a cactus. Yep. Drowned it. I inherited my brown thumb from her. No real idea how to make anything grow.

Your friends rock!

That is so sweet! I'm really impressed that the cuttings did so well in transport.
I hope you like the forsythia. My MIL had one and it was muy intrusive.... But lovely!

That is so totally cool! I wonder if I could possibly substitute Forsythia for the Trumpet Vine? Nah, probably not. That *&%(*%$ Trumpet Vine is the ruler of our yard, which would mean a major war against the two. Heaven forbid!
