Just One More? Pretty Please?

I SWEAR on a stack of bricks, this will be the last house-in-progress post until the house is painted. At least partly painted. 'K? But I really think we've chosen our color. THANK YOU to all of you who were so honest about colors. Yes, the last green was too minty and soft and indoorsy. This one is almost exactly like Treehouse - that darkest green. Here's a shot of it on the north side (I don't think I've shown y'all a completed shot of the north side):

I can't WAIT till we cover up that nasty blue.
Ew. It does not belong on my house. I think mostly because it's old and faded. Now here's a shot of the green without any distractions:

That's one of my bedroom windows. I'm so glad the boys are done hammering there while I try to sleep. Last, here's a shot of the green with my silver sage (we just yesterday discovered what these pretty shrubs are - too bad we've beaten the snot out of them while doing the siding):

I really like the sage against the green, especially their pretty purple flowers. Oh! Oh! And Maybelline and Little Guy cut in a garden bed for me! They worked really hard for many hours in the hot Oklahoma sun, removing grass, cutting in the edges, mixing in topsoil, peat and manure, then mulching. Lookit!

You can't tell, see, but there are yellow gladiola bulbs planted near the center. The shrubby thing in the back left corner is a pink hydrangea. The three things in front of it are double yellow daylilies. In front of those, and running along the edge, are moss rose, or portulaca. I love moss rose. Shortly there will also be some yellow bearded iris planted in the back along the fence. I think I have eight of them.

Thank you for tolerating my outdoor madness the last few weeks. Something just takes over when the weather is nice, and we've had our fair share of gorgeous weather lately. Hope you're enjoying your summer as much as I'm enjoying mine!

Until I write again ...

Flea

As long as you like the color, it's all that matters!

Love your new little garden! I hope the daylillies mind their business and don't crowd the others! Your kids are lovely for doing that for you!

It looks great! I am not normally a fan of green (for clothes etc) but I SO LOVE a green house. I can't wait to see the finished product!!

Oh wow... that is a perfect shade of green for the outside of the house. It looks great against that sage. Imagine some nice lavendar bushes too.

Fancy.

I like the green. It's sorta a sage color, too. Way to go for getting the new flower bed.

It looks lovely! the dark green is very pretty! How fun to start a little new garden bed. I have tons of Irises. Yeah for getting everything fixed up, then forgive me, but don't you have some indoor painting going on too?

Lovely. I think this will be a spectacular color to compliment the bricks as well as the landscape. I love doing DIY this way-- no plaster under my nails or paint in my hair. :-)
