Mr. Rebel Says Hello

Initially I was going to just post pictures of the side of the house. Like this:

Isn't that fun? It's how much the Hunny got done last weekend, along with much of the trim. His foot and knee were giving him grief, so ladder work was difficult. Look how different it looks when I do this:

Cool, huh? The green looks totally different. I like it either way.

I really was going to just post pictures of the paint job and be on my merry way. But Mr. Rebel had other ideas. See, he has this neck strap, and it tightens when I don't do what he wants. He uses it like some sort of horse's reign to ... not buyin' it, huh? Well, I was having fun. So there. Look what else Mr. Rebel liked.

My new day lily! No, not the asiatic lily from the front garden. The roofers killed that, just like they killed my PEONY!! Stinkin' roofers. But I found this pretty lily at Home Depot and brought it home to live in my yard and it's very happy there.

Look what else caught Mr. Rebel's lens:

Yes! The silver sage has bloomed! And y'all, it burst into bloom practically overnight. It just went NUTS. And I'm loving it. I want more of these all around the house, just so I can see them bloom.

Mr. Rebel, being the relentless creature he is, just had to capture this:

My Chicago Peace smelled so good he had to wander over and take a look. Pretty, huh? And he couldn't stop there. Noooo. He took his show indoors for more vegetative fun. See?

See what the Hunny's toying with? Watermelon! Something not growing in our garden, unfortunately. Wanna see what he's doing with it? You know you do. Look.

I'm considering using this for my header for awhile. Whadda ya think? He's such an artist. And he LOVES having his work immortalized in pictures, but I'm not so sure he likes his FACE photographed.

Isn't that the cutest thing? They're so adorable at that age. That face right there CRACKS ME UP.

No guarantees I'll see y'all this weekend. So far work and sleep are all that are on my agenda. But I'll try and make the rounds to visit you all, even if I'm not writing.

Until I write again ...

Flea

Lovely yard and house pics but oh my gosh your hunny's look just made me chortle. He reminds me of Scott when he finds me pointing my camera his way. They do have to put up soooooo much don't they!

I love the green paint! Great choice.

The watermelon letters are so brilliant, it makes me want to steal the idea.

Did I say steal? I meant imitate. You know -- the flattering kind of stealing!

He could go on the road in the summer with that act. Carved names at county fairs and festivals.
I'm sure he'd agree.

Great carving, great facial expression, great new header.

How about his carving an entire watermelon alphabet? Then you could knock out the background in Photoshop and sell the files as a raster alphabet and make tens of dollars.
