I'm Speechless
Y'all. Y'all. I saw The Dark Knight today. I don't even know what to say.
First, I'm a Batman fan. Not hard core - I never really got into the comic books, but I've been a fan of every TV show and cartoon ever made. Loved Tim Burton's first Batman movie, head over heels over Batman Begins. I've been madly in love with the Dark Knight for my entire adult life. Do you know what I'm saying? He speaks to my soul, people. It hurts inside.
BUT - I'm not a fan of sequels. I very begrudgingly went to the theater. And I can't recall having seen Heath Ledger in anything prior to this film. Oh. My.
Y'all, I feel as though I'd do the film a disservice to say anything about it. Ledger as well. He was the Joker. No, I mean, HE WAS THE JOKER. It couldn't have been a more perfect performance, more accurately portrayed.
I sat in the theater for the entire credits with my mouth open, staring at the screen, soaking in the music. Afraid to move. Afraid to lose what I'd just seen. I can't even begin to tell you how incredible this movie is. How shocking. How well done.
Batman may not be your thing. If that's the case, I forgive you. If he is and you haven't been, run to your nearest theater. Don't wait for the DVD. Go now. Seriously.
Okay. I'm done.
Until I write again ...

This was one of the most brutal movies I have ever seen and found myself mesmerized. It was really three movies and by the end I felt wiped out. I agree that Heath Ledger is the Joker that set the standard. We will miss him. MUD
We saw that movie last weekend at the drive-in. I thought it was really good considering Aidan talked through the whole movie. LOL
Yours is the third positive review I have seen today. I know it will really bother me to see Heath Ledger thoguh. Thanks fo the review!
I so want to see it again--I think I'd like it even more the second time but I don't know if I can handle the violence again.
Wow! I had never seen the trailer till now. It looks so intense!!
Geez, now I have to see it! That good huh?
Holy Cow Pie! I loved, loved, LOVED it too!
I tried to explain to a Gal Pal it didn't have blood per say, but the implied brutal violence messed with your head more than seeing the actual blood...
Oh. My. Word.
Fab-u-lous!
Wow! This is the first good review that I've seen. I'm thinking that you need to be a fan of the Dark Knight in order to enjoy it. I am. Upon your recommendation, I will go see it. Or perhaps wait for it to come out on DVD, lol.
We went to see it... I dont know if you read what I said about it... It was ok but martha and I fell asleep in the theater...
I did think the actors did a great job...

I don't get to see movies in the theater with a small kid and no family around, but I ADORE Christian Bale & cannot wait to see it.
Also, imagine your heat (we're pretty close geographically) & no AC. Stupid roofers knocked ours out.
thank you, i will. Well, when I can get a babysitter I will... Was it kinda sad to see Heath Ledger? That's what has worried me about this film.
I need to go see it. I just wish babysitters weren't so expensive. Or the movies because really? $9 a ticket?
But I keep hearing over and over how good this movie is...I really really want to see it on the big screen.
I have to go see it. Everyone I know keeps telling me how GREAT it is. I need to see it!!
