Reflections, a Review

A friend of mine - Eve Marie Everson - has co-authored a book called Reflections of God's Holy Land: A Personal Journey Through Israel. (The other author - Miriam Feinberg Vamosh - lives in Israel and shares the history throughout the book. Eva Marie calls her a genius) When Eva Marie sent out word that it was finally available for pre-ordering through Amazon, well of course I popped over and pre-ordered it, since so far I love everything she's written!

How do I know Eva Marie? She was the president of the writer's group I was part of in Orlando.
A couple of years ago I attended the Blue Ridge Writer's Convention in NC (at Eva Marie's urging), where she spoke, and I got to know her a little better. Just before I left Florida, she came to my tiny book club and talked about her Potluck Club book series (we'd just read book number one) and signed our books. It was so much fun to hear my ladies ask a million questions about what went into writing the book, some of the things her characters do and say. Eva Marie is funny and sweet and has experienced more of life than I ever dare to, wearing it beautifully. And is now in high demand as an author. I'm so happy for her!

The book, Reflections, which came this week in the mail, is a coffee table book, full of gorgeous pictures of Israel. I've been looking through it, not reading it like a book, but soaking it in, and find that there are biblical historical accounts, regional history, personal accounts of Eva Marie's visits, and Scripture, all laced around the prettiest pictures and descriptions imaginable. When she told me she'd taken most of the photos included, I was blown away. The book is beautiful, y'all.

Just thought y'all would want to know. I'm looking forward to digesting this book a little at a time. I have to confess, though, that all of my Eva Marie titles are signed to me. I wonder if I can talk her into signing this one for me if I ship it to her ...

Until I write again ...

Isn't it wonderful to find a book you can just absorb? I bet she would sign it for you!

The book sounds beautiful! I would so love to take a trip to the Holy Land other than I'm chicken. I have known others who have done it and they say there is really no comparison.

Sounds great! I'll look into it when (if ever) my kids go back to school...

Oh dear Flea.

Many thanks. That will be the most perfect gift for my mother for Christmas. She went on a pligrimage to Israel a couple of years ago and her camera was stolen.

This will be the best gift ever for her.
