Nobody laugh. And nobody get mad. I think I'm a bad mom. Hush.
While enrolling the kidlets in school, I got their standardized test scores back. They tested - the short version - last summer in order to be placed in classrooms, but I really had no idea where they were academically. Now I know.
Last summer Oatmeal Head scored about average in everything 7th grade, so that's where he wound up. End of this year's tests, he placed solidly in Satisfactory. He's normal, on track, doing well.
Maybelline scored really low in math last summer, putting her in remedial math. There are reasons for that, but nothing I could do about it at that point. End of this year, she's across the board Satisfactory, meaning she came up at LEAST two grade levels in math. YAY!!!
Little Guy? He was being pulled out of class from the beginning because he scored low on last summer's math test. He also has an IEP for some learning struggles, even though he has graduate school level vocabulary. Imagine my surprise when I got his test scores and his math was Advanced! Hooray!
Just had to let y'all know. Homeschooling sucked and all, and I did a pretty poor job (hence last summer's test scores), but they CAN be taught! And they were taught well. I'm so proud of them.
Until I write again ...
