Something's not right. Is it September already? Who gave the year permission to go so quickly? And the weather! Who said it could cool off already?
I'm not complaining about the weather. Really. It's just that, these days with highs in the 70's and low 80's, they're really foreign to me. Oatmeal Head and I were talking about it yesterday, having been in Florida so long, how we're waiting for a sneak attack from the sky. You know - heat. Maybe some bizarre front swept through and brought this beautiful cooler weather with it, only to be snapping back to the 100's mid-week. It's just not right.
I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. It just can't be this delicious this time of year, can it? Every day more perfect than the one before? When will summer return? Because, you know, it's only September. It should still be blazing out. And miserable. But the kids broke out sweatshirts last week for their wait for the bus.
WOOHOOO!!!! This is why we moved to Tulsa.
Until I write again ...

I too, keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. After living in Phoenix for three years,I just don't know what to do with 70's and 80's in September.? In fact, I'm not use to having to fight off misquitos the size of a small bird either. (Those little suckers can bite through anything.)
It always seems to flip from summer to autumn in one day here - right now we are running in the mid 70s for highs - not bad at all for September. It'll probably snow next week though.
My favorite time of year...we are getting more of that cool air tomorrow. I can hardly wait to turn off the a/c and open the windows!
91 and sultry yesterday... gonna be hotter today ACK the DOG days are here in the south east.
We're freezing our butts off out here in the midwest. It was 45 degrees last night. It's a little early for this kind of weather....
For Hope's first day of school I bought a tank top and some shorts, she didn't get to wear either. In fact, I sent her in pants and a long sleeve shirt. Can I tell you how wrong that is?
Remind me of this post next week when I'm in Cancun where the weather is 90 degrees or higher and I'm sweating like a pig ;)
We are having our good September weather... things are warming up to about 75 or so during the day. By the end of the month, it'll be 60. The leaves haven't started turning yet so even though there's cool air in the evening, it's still the soft gentle tail end of summer.
It was cool while we were in Ohio but here . . . still HOT! Besides, I am not sure that we ever officially have a "fall" here! Enjoy the cool weather while you can!
We had SUCH beautiful weather yesterday...cooler in the 70's, no humidity, sunny and breezy...and then what do we wake up to today? Disgusting humidity, temps back up and RAIN, RAIN, RAIN. Blah!
Here in the NE its on/off heat til after the Jewish High Holy Days which this year fall at the end of September/beg. October ... today we have humidity and rain replacing the lovely blue skies and moderate temps of yesterday .. tomorrow .. ah they say it will be a limited glimpse into a true Fall day ..

Cooling off? Freezing? Sweatshirts? What are you people talking about?!?!?!?! This past weekend it was so hot, pretty and bright and sunny and all, but way too hot for hours outside watching football and cheerleading.
Last night it went down to 10oC...chilly!!!
LOL!!! I gave it permission to cool off! I'm having quite the opposite experience here in Tulsa. Friends from home were complaining because it was cool all the way into late June/July and they are already making comments about Fall. It's been blazing hot entirely long enough in my opinion. I think we should 'just say no'. :)
We are not having the same luck...still hotter than hades. Ugh.
I am so looking forward to fall weather. It was in the 90's here yesterday and I wanted to cry. Today it's low 80's which is much, much better.
I hear you so loud and clear, I think the hurricaines have been cooling us off. Whatever it is I'm grateful too!
I'm loving the weather right now. I love the milder temps. But what happened to the summer?
Wow. You may have just convinced me it's worth a few 110 days if it's already cool there. SOOO jealous. How's the market for piano teachers in Tulsa?
:D
