Update - Geez, I Do a Lot of Updates

Thank you all for your kindness and prayers. Maybelline has had mid to low pain levels all day, but no further nausea. Saltines, bananas and ginger ale. Laptop and Heroes episodes she hasn't seen. The blood results are normal. The doctor's office is still working to get her an appointment with a gastroenterologist. So she won't move around much till then, or probably even go to school. Poor thing. I'm sure she'll be crushed when we tell her.

As to Lou, he's still a pain in the butt, as always. He purrs now when I pet him, he's come down to eat and he's aggravating the dogs again. This photo, though, is not for the weak of stomach. He has a nasty gash. But it hasn't oozed or bled since he's come home. I just know he's getting better, so I'm leaving things be. Scroll down for the photo:

Gross, huh? He's not at his prettiest, that's for sure. But he seems to be his old self otherwise.

Again, thank you all! My three boys are all out fishing (Little Guy LOVES to fish, and Oatmeal Head had to get in on the act). Tomorrow we really will have a Fall Break day. Head out to Tahlequah and at least look at changing leaves and take pictures. Let the dogs run and get wet. Let the boys run and get wet. Picnic lunch. Hoorah!

Honestly? I'm grateful this happened to Maybelline now, while she had time off and no tests or homework to worry about. And while I had time off and didn't have to worry about sleep. As yucky as all this is, God, in His mercy, let it happen now. Not next weekend. Stuff's gonna happen, ya know? I'm just glad for the timing.

Until I write again ...

Flea

I'm gone for a couple of days and now I'm lost. I will have to start reading the days I missed. I hope everybody is feeling better.

Well I'm glad her blood was normal...maybe just a hideous virus? That poor cat!

Good grief! I miss a day or two and your family falls apart! We'll pray for Maybelline and hope it's nothing too serious. Thank God for His perfect timing.

I'm glad Maybelline is feeling at least a little better. I pray she continues to improve and it is nothing serious. And poor Lou :( that must have hurt. I'm glad he is feeling better too. You scared me a bit when you said you found him laying stretched out on the floor.

Large gashes and holes in cats have ceased to gross me out after years & years of seeing them, lol.

Hoping Maybelline is on the mend by now... as well as Lou.

Hope The Flea is now getting some much needed rest. Don't you just hate it when you need a vacation to get over your vacation?

OMGOMGOMG. You've had a heckuva break! Or, non-break... the anti-break. I guessed gall bladder issues for Maybelline, but I hope it's just a bug. Geez. That sucks for her in a big way. Wishes and prayers for a fast and thorough recovery headed her way...

Lou really needs to be seen and on antibiotics. Those look like bite wounds, which will abscess and burst if not treated. Poor guy. Cats are notorious for hiding their misery until they are on the verge of collapse. I hope you can find a few minutes to get him to the vet. At the very least, maybe some neosporin?

I know more about cats than kids, obviously, but my medical degrees aren't current for either. LOL Love...

So glad she is better. Was it the flu? Kitty looks yucky but healing.

Your comment on my post had me laughing so hard my DH thought I was on the phone (tells you what I do on the phone!).

Now, no one else is allowed to get sick. OK?

Good luck with the doctor appointments - they are always such a pain but hopefully this time they will ease the pain!

Poor kitty!

You know while I was reading, before you said gall stones, I was thinking this sounds like one of my gallstones episodes. Bummer, but getting my gallbladder out was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Did they do an ultrasound of the abdomen. That will tell them in five minutes if she has them. Make sure they do that before an upper GI so she doesn't have to through the upper gi if she doesn't need to.

Ouch! the poor kitty!
I hope poor Maybelline feels better soon, and that nothing serious is wrong. And that they figure it out quickly.
And it is good that it happened on a long weekend, glad for that for you.
Take care dear Flea, I hope you are able to somewhat enjoy the weekend.

I hope Maybelline feels 100% very quickly. What horrible thing it is when our kids are sick.
and ouch to your kitty cat... keep a close eye on it for puffiness for an abcess and maybe give it a squirt of peroxide to clean it up each day.
