Feedback, Please?

I have to ask a question. It's part of my ongoing discovery of who I am and what I love. Really. I have to ask if any of you would be interested in something. And I must declare that it really is all your fault that I'm asking. Take a look:

(from FolkWear)
Isn't that a fun blouse? There's smocking at the neck, front and back, tops of the sleeves and the cuffs. I made one like it from linen years ago and wore it out. I'm thinking of starting an Etsy, but am wondering if anyone would be interested in women's smocked clothing? I'm thinking women's nightgowns as well. Anyone? Anyone interested? It'll be after Christmas, since I have some projects I'm currently enjoying.

Another fun one may be a woman's bishop blouse. Photos to come when I'm done with the one I'm working on now. And a more tailored blouse with touches of smocking. Hmm.

How is it all your fault? Several of you have suggested I do this for money. Several have suggested starting an Etsy. I'm in the exploration phase. What fun!

Until I write again ...

Flea

Go For it. Peasant tops with smocking are all the rage, right? Or was that last year? There I go. Out of touch again.

But really, I think you should do it. You are very talented.

I say go for it. My sister sells on etsy and loves it. Her jewelry is at "shiplett shop." Good luck and keep us posted!

Can't say I care for the blouse in the picture - I prefer more form-fitting clothes. However, the idea of a smocked nightgown sounds beautiful. I wouldn't pay more than $50 bucks though - would it be worth it for you?

Heck yes, Flea. Your work is incredible. I would definitely want a nightgown and a peasant blouse. Woo-hoo!

I like it... in a light material though. That one looks a little heavy. Smocked nighties rock. Short ones though.

Hugs!

YES, YES, YES!!!! (Oh wait, was the question "Who would wear this? Buy this? Encourage you to do this?) I love smocked, peasanty, pretty-pretties for ladies and girls. (And you KNOW I believe in nighties in the garden -- smocked would be divine!) I abhor shopping and love wearing pretty clothes. Go for it! PLEEEEEASE!!! : D

Your workmanship is excellent and the cost of getting set up to do business on Etsy is, I think, minimal.

My recommendation, if the risk is minimal, is to make up a sample garment of each type and put it out there to test the water and see if this is something you'd enjoy doing as a business.

I like it. I love smocking. And a part of me would love to wear this type of clothing. I say go for it.

My mother would love nothing more than a smocked nightgown, and now that I'm thinking of it, I am officially commissioning you to make her one for Christmas. Next year - don't panic.

I'm so very pleased with myself for thinking of that idea. Thanks for putting it in my peabrain.
