Toffee Is Keeping Me Awake

Loooook at it. You know you waaaaaant it.

I know I'm writing about the dang toffee again. I'm not getting paid to do this. I was just asked to write about it when I tried it. But it's keeping me awake. How? Let me 'splain.

I know I said I was going to savor the toffee, and I have been, just a little nibble at a time. But lately it's been a little nibble every five minutes. I blame PMS. I need the dark chocolate.

A family member sent me a box of Whitman's Samplers for Christmas. It's an old family favorite. I had a couple of pieces Friday night and actually laughed when my Hunny grabbed a little toffee piece and declared it good. NOT. It's mediocre at best. I left the table then and there to nibble on my good toffee. Came back, closed up the Whitman's and put it in the kitchen, declaring it fair game to anyone who wants it.

Here's how the toffee is keeping me awake: trying to sleep on Saturday before work, all I could think of was the toffee. Like Edmund and the Turkish Delight. And all I could think was that the Toffee Anytime people need to have a toffee of the month club, set to arrive on the date you choose each month. Just in time for PMS to hit. And smaller packages, since I'm going to be buying it every month now. I have a budget to work with, you know. And a weight issue.

It was also keeping me awake because it was there in the same room with me, calling me from the bed every 20 minutes or so. To nibble, you know. I couldn't help it. Today I'm going to hide it so I can sleep. Hide it in another room. So help me, I will get some sleep.

Until I write again ...

You're a victim of toffee, poor thing. I am a victim of those chocolates I brought back from Canada. Hopefully they'll be gone soon!

I like the smaller packages with the smaller prices thing. And nothing is more genius than having chocolate arrive in the mail just when I need it every month.

Toffee is one of nature's most perfect foods. I'm pretty sure it counts in the fruit and vegetable group, doesn't it?

I didn't make my toffee this year :-( no kitchen space. I'm with you on a toffee of the month club-- maybe that would let you quit thinking about it if it was just everywhere all of the time.

Who is that gorgeous straight-haired woman in your side bar?!

A lady in our town makes toffee & I avoid it like the plague. It's like having a bag of potato chips around. I always feel compelled to go ahead & kill the whole thing. So, go ahead Flea! Eat the whole thing & just get rid of it, lol.
