I'm really hoping that this isn't just my problem. I hope like crazy that one of you knows how to fix it.
Several of you - Shades of Blonde and Burgh Baby's Mom being the two I frequent most - have switched to a new format in Blogger. I like the look and feel of it. But I can't comment on their posts! It's driving me crazy!
Please tell me one of you has had the same problem? That you know how to fix or bypass it? When I try to comment, below the box for comments, and above the post button, there's a drop down menu which says, "Select profile". When I drop it down, it gives me the options of Google account, Live journal, Aim, Open ID, Name/URL, Anonymous and a few others. I've tried them ALL. Can't leave a comment to save my life.
I've left messages with Blogger's help line. What a joke. There's no help there. So I'm begging you, my bloggy friends, the technically savvy of you, to PLEASE help me? Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.

P.S. Thanks to Daryl, I've been able to leave a comment at Burgh's place via Internet Explorer (ordinarily I'm a Foxfire girl). Unfortunately, after leaving the comment it told me there was an error and locked up on me. I think the key is in my not staying logged on at Blogger, no matter what I do. As soon as I've posted or left the Dashboard, I'm logged off my blog. Grr.

Okay .. so I went to both their blogs and if I had wanted to leave a comment I could .. so now I ask .. are you logged in on Blogger? If so, try logging out, shut down the browser and maybe even shut down the computer and restart, if you use a Mac try using Foxfire not Safari .. if you use a PC try using Foxfire in place of IE .. if all that fails, I have no other ideas/suggestions or fixes
Not a "Blogger" blogger, but it seems you should be able to under your blogger id. I found the field on both sites....
Or you could apply for an open id like I use to comment on Blogger sites.
I'm no help. I'm using FF and I went and it was okay. Didn't leave a comment. How rude. I'm logged in to Reader.

I had the same problem for a while... also with only a few blogs. Then, one day blogger fixed it, I assume. It just started working. Yes, it's frustrating, but that's life in the internet world...
I was wondering where you were! I have my comments moderated and they don't show up until I approve them. That's what happens when you know psycho people who you're afraid will leave an inappropriate comment! Ha! Thanks for being my fellow bloggy friend!

I have had a few blogger issues myself recently. I am glad to hear I am not alone. Sorry you are having trouble though.
I tried out the new format a month ago and got several emails saying that people could not comment. So I went back to the original form.
I hope the problem is all solved by now. I must confess this has never happened to me and I have no idea why.
Blogger is busting my chops .. it says I have 42 comments waiting moderation but I dont have comment moderation turned on ... Laura also is having posting/commenting issues, Blogger insists she's anonymous.

I had the same trouble on a few blogs. To get around it, I had to do a control-click on something - maybe the "Publish Your Comment" button? This would then open ONLY the commenting/publishing area in a new window, where I could leave my comment.
For me, The blogs are read only until I am signed in. If I enter Blogspot through the create blog page I made I have free access. If I just go to a blog without signing-in I have no comment ability. I also made up my mind months ago that I am here to write my blog and the comments are secondary. I put a counter on my blog and am well into the 20,000 to 30,000 range of hits. Good luck.

This happens to me every once in a while. I usually get a software update not long after I have problems though. Blogger REALLY scared me today, I went to load up my site and it told me there was none.
