Update ... and Spring!

Hello bloggy friends! So I swallowed a radioactive pill, after 12 days off of my thyroid medicine. It was very disappointing, the pill. My pee didn't glow in the dark or ANYTHING.

Being off the meds, however, was everything I expected and MORE! Lethargy! Forgetfulness! Dry skin and mouth! Oh, and don't forget the muscle and joint aches! So much fun.

The radiologist - who looks like she stepped off the cover of a glamor magazine - will be sending the results of my scans to my doctor. What she could tell me is that my thyroid is taking in iodine properly. It's functioning like it should. There are just nodules that need to be examined. And maybe biopsied at some point. So. Yeah.

I got home from the final test today and took a three hour nap. No guilt. No choice, either.

Ready for the spring part? There's not much. But I do love spring in Tulsa!

Well. It seems that Blogger won't let me post photos. It tells me my Picasa account is full. How rude. I'll look into this and get back to you all. Hmph.

Until I write again ...

Flea

Good luck with this, I know all about thyroid issues and how crappy they are!

Best wishes on finding a solution to your thyroid problems. And your Picassa acct. I really wanted to see that glow in the dark pee!

I have nodules on both sides of my thyroid. I call them Lucy and Ethel. When we first found them, they did what they called a fine needle biopsy. It didn't hurt, just made my neck a bit sore. Fortunately, they are both benign. I don't take anything in the way of thyroid med's. So far,I'm very fortunate in that area.

Good luck with yours.

I am so glad! Still praying those nodules are benign. You are better off with this little gland than without it. Just think how much better you will feel when you get back on your medicine. You poor thing this really has been rough. PRAYERS going up!!

Darn! Considering all you're going through, at least you could have glowed in the dark!

No glow-in-the-dark pee. After all that? What a let down!

Well, at least you are one step closer to figuring out what is going on!

You are still in my prayers, Flea!

That is rude. Right up there with eating all the comments I was trying to leave everywhere.
I have to agree with Tsannie-- a glow fest might have been a nice consolation prize for all of the yuck... but you wouldn't have been able to post photos of it anyway.

Your Pee-casa account is full? You need some chocolate! It's a cure all.

Oh I hope you are feeling better soon. We have skipped Spring and gone straight to Summer here;) At least for today.

So I'm confuzzled. I know you haven't gotten the results yet, but what is it the Doc said? Yes? No? She'll give you something to make your pee glow? (Because that would be fun.)

Our oldest had to do that when she was in grade school. She has a goiter. My whole family on Daddy's side has thyroid issues. Two-thirds of his was removed because of a tumor when I was in grade school.
