Mystery Solved

Whew! It's good to be back, even if I am blogging from the library. No laundry to distract, or dishes, or barking dogs. No bed to call my name for a nap. No kitchen full of food crying out to be eaten. I think I'm gonna like this.

Here's the deal: the internet is off at my house, almost entirely for the above reasons. And why does that matter to a stay home mom? Partly because my children don't need my lazy butt, computer addicted example. Partly because housework wasn't getting done any way I sliced it. And partly because I'm opening the grad school door again.

I gotta tell ya, it's scaring the crap outta me. Seriously. This time I'll have to take the GRE (but that's okay, because I love tests). This time it's a state school, two hours away, and I'm not sure they'll let me do this correspondence - the woman I'm supposed too talk to was on maternity leave till this week. And the degree? Professional Writing.

Doesn't that sound exciting? It does, I know. But the application requires 50 consecutive pages of fiction or creative non-fiction. I write short stuff. This is freaking me out. Oh, that and the paying for it. And the deadline for applying for the spring semester is mid-November.

So I should probably break from this (even though I miss and love you all so!), and figure out what to write. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Until I write again ...

Flea

So, what is "creative non-fiction"? A biography of your mis-adventures? I'm not up on all those distinctions. Anyway, you are good at story telling. I'm sure you can come up with something. :) Good luck!

Good for you! Go for it, Lady! And you already have more that fifty pages of super-cool creative fiction and non fiction posted on your blog! You're THERE! Now go take a nap.

LOL, creative non-fiction... your experiences with basket weaving 101 should cover it.

I think you can do whatever you set your sites to do. Just remember all of us when you are a rich, published, nobel prize winning author.

Good luck on your decision, and the paying for it. I work at a University and know how expensive it is.
